Byron A. Morataya is a dedicated attorney with a strong commitment to advocating for clients facing complex immigration and criminal legal matters. His passion for justice and deep understanding of the legal system stem from both personal experience and years of direct work with diverse communities throughout Massachusetts.

Attorney Morataya is fluent in English and Spanish and is known for providing compassionate, effective representation to individuals navigating difficult legal processes β€” particularly in immigration and criminal defense. His approach is client-centered, empathetic, and grounded in clear communication.

Attorney Morataya earned his Juris Doctor from New England Law | Boston, completing the evening program while working full-time as a high school Math and Spanish teacher in Boston. He received his undergraduate degree from Oberlin College in Ohio.

Throughout law school, Attorney Morataya gained valuable legal experience through internships with prominent attorneys and public defender offices. He interned with Attorney Susan Church in Cambridge, where he worked on cases involving crimmigration, removal defense, and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS). He also served as a 3:03 Certified Student Attorney with the Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS) in Worcester, representing indigent clients in District Court.

Attorney Morataya has represented immigrant children and families in Probate and Family Court across Worcester, Middlesex, and Suffolk Counties. He also advocates for clients before USCIS and Immigration Court, and handles a variety of criminal matters in Massachusetts District Courts. He is certified by the Bar Advocate Program through CPCS and continues to represent indigent clients in criminal defense cases.

When he's not in court, Attorney Morataya enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family. He’s an avid soccer fan and can often be found refereeing youth and adult matches on weekends.
